Sifu Fazil Zafar
When I decided to open The Hoi Fa Siu Lum Kung Fu Academy in Shirley, New York, I wanted to provide a safe and friendly environment for my family and community. At the time my daughter was two years old and I wanted to give her the same experiences and benefits I received through martial art training. I also wanted to help my parents maintain great health as they got older. The school was established around family and has maintained those principles.
Over the last 25 years I have studied various Kung Fu systems and Muay Thai with a focus on Wing Chun, Hung Gar and Tai Chi. During my training I took Bi-Se under Sifu Douglas Chin. In addition, I also obtained Certifications in personal training, group training and nutrition.
Si Jie Lauren
Lauren began her training under Sifu Fazil in 2014 and has been hooked ever since.
Lauren is part of the Tiger Generals Lion Dance Team and represents Hoi Fa Siu Lum at Tournaments as part of the demo team. Her favorite weapon is the Coin Spade and kung fu movie is The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.
Si Hing Marc
Marc is an assistant teacher for kids and adults. He specializes in Wing Chun and loves working on the Mook. He has been training under Sifu Fazil to increase his knowledge of Hung Gar, Wing Chun and Tai Chi.
